VOLT This Friday! @Circomedia

Yes that’s right – This Week – Friday namely 7.30pm at Circomedia Portland Square (the big church).

Doors open early so you have time to get a drink before if you like. It’s only £3 – subsidised by our kind council.

We are really excited to welcome you, here is who will be sharing work. And remember, its all brand new and scratchy.

Mike Bell will be introducing an unlikely character to the stage, trying out some new ideas with juggling, clown and a man’s best friend.
Janine and Helina will be developing new dimensional work on a rotating hoop, exploring how physical differences can be used as creative advantages.
Willow Vidal-Hall and Grania Pickard are everyday feminists who will be scratching a section of their full length show. Through the physical, the comedic and the heartfelt they aim to make you think about the everyday instances of inequality.
Steve Ryan – Playfully examining the mythology of circus by exploring the inherent ideas of transformation and risk and exploring the lost historical impact the circus had on society – using clown, movement, text, and like, maybe a handstand. This piece attempts to deconstruct the circus form to create a bold and visual piece of theatre.
Hugo Maciel of Cie Huma  – I’m interested in exploring the relationship between painting and juggling. I have chosen a painting from Kandinsky, ‘composition number VIII’ which will be the point of departure for the work presented. By analyzing the painting and its dynamics, colors, etc I intend to draw in to scenic space a new juggling composition.”
Most of you will have seen him in NoFit State’s Bianco at Creative Common, as the juggler in that piece.
See you there!
BOOK Tickets here – there is no booking fee for booking in advance.
